Crazy Day!

Being the celebrity that he is, I’m sure most everyone has heard the story of Jackson’s grand arrival into the world but I’ll share for those who haven’t.

I went to work. We had cross country practice after school. I haven’t been running in probably about 2 ½ months so I was just telling the kids what they were running. Ashlynn has been coming to practice with me and we have been walking around looking for golf balls while the kids were running. After that, we went back to my room. I had made us crock pot dinner since Austin had football practice. We went to his practice. Anyways, we left the house at ten till six that morning and got home right at nine. Thursday night is Rock Band night so when we got home, Dustin helped the kids to bed so he could go play! I was telling Austin a bedtime story and I started feeling a little more crampy than I had been the last few days. Ashlynn fell asleep waiting on me to tuck her in. I started having real contractions right at 10:00 after eating mint Oreos and milk. (I wonder if that had anything to do with it??) They weren’t that bad so I took a bath and then texted/called Dustin. I went ahead and took a shower to wash my hair and gathered up anything that I didn’t already have in the Jeep. When Dustin got home, he got the kids dressed and in the car. When we left I thought we had enough time to get to the hospital. I remember Dustin asking me if he needed to fly or just drive fast. Well, we got pulled over almost half way there and by then I wasn’t so sure I would make it to the hospital. We ended up with a police escort to the hospital. When we pulled into the hospital parking lot, I didn’t think I could even make it out of the jeep. My contractions had went from five minutes apart to less than a minute apart from the house to here! The police officer, Dustin, and the hospital security guard helped me into the chair. I’m not sure where the officer went but they sent Dustin to park the car and take the other two kids to the waiting room. (Austin kept telling Ashlynn all the way to the hospital to just not talk to mom because she was having a baby. I think Ashlynn is still a little traumatized but she is doing better. She was bawling by the time we got to the hospital because last thing she knew she was in her bed!) Anyways, the security guard met several nurses as we were coming in and I just kept telling them to hurry up that he was about to be born. They just kept telling me I would make it to a room and a bed. The nurses soon realized that wasn’t going to happen about the time we were in the elevator. The security guard was pretty shaken and kept asking if he needed to go. The main nurse turned and told him to just hold the chair still. I won’t give all the wonderful birthing details, but Jackson was born in the elevator with three nurses and a security guard in a wheel chair. It was a wonderful finale for a last child!!! All is doing well now and we are home. He slept a good solid 2-3 hours at a time last night. He is so perfect! I do have to say that baby boy diaper changing is a bit more dramatic than little girls. (The less time you spend changing, the better chances of not getting a pee shower!)

Ready to Go!

Well, we are ready to go! I think... I am just ready to get this show on the road. I have everything planned for the baby that I can think to plan for. I need to clean my house and I'll be ready to go! Here is the blanket I have worked on since we found out I was pregnant! It's finally finished! Only 10 more days until my original due date but hopefully our little guy comes before then!

Here' s Austin in his football getup! He is so handsome! I can't believe he's growing up so fast!

A Very Exciting First Day

The first day of school has come and gone! The kids were so excited the night before that they could hardly contain themselves. Ashlynn even tried to get up at 4:00 am! Although I convinced her it wasn't time to get up yet then, she was up again at 5:30 brushing her teeth! She loved her first day of kindergarten! Austin was also very excited to start 4th grade. I think they will both have a good year. Austin starts football Friday! I will have to post a picture of him in his uniform when he gets one. :)

A Busy Week

It seems like when you are busy time just flies by! I am around 36 weeks pregnant in this picture! You can see our tile work in progress behind me. I finished that up today and I'm going to grout it tomorrow. It looks so different in there! NO MORE MOLDY TUB! I can't wait for it to be all finished! (I'm all wet from the tile saw, not from taking a shower in my clothes!)

I took the kids to the pool in West Plains Friday! They had so much fun! I couldn't find Ashlynn's swimsuit so that's why she's in shorts and a t-shirt!
Austin found a group of boys to play with! They both kind of drove me crazy because they didn't want to play with each other but they didn't know anyone either. I think next time we go I will let them each bring a friend.
Ashlynn had a great time in the kiddy area! Here she is posing for me to take a picture!
And here she is again going down the frog slide. She spent several hours figuring out the very best way to go down the frog's tongue!
I thought this picture turned out cute too!
I can't believe the summer is almost over! I have one more week off before I go back to work and the chaos begins! I hope I can juggle two kids in school, coaching cross country, having a baby, juggling baby back and forth to the sitter, worrying about a substitute while I am gone and trying to be an awesome teacher again this year! Dustin seems to think that I live for stress and chaos but I promise, it just seems to find me where ever I go!
