Austin came in a while ago with my bag of peanut M & M’s and he said, “Mom, did you know these had protein in them?”

Ashlynn took one look at the bag and said, “Austin give ME some protein! Mom, can I have some protein?”

HA HA HA HA!

Happy Thursday

I'm glad I get to go pick Austin up tomorrow! It seems like he has been gone forever. Ashlynn just had to sleep in his bed tonight since it was his last night gone. She just grinned her evil little grin and said, "He won't even know!" CUTE! I cleaned his room up all nice and vacuumed the floor. Ashlynn and I had to clean out the critter cages in there too. It took a while. You wouldn't think that two hamsters and a guinea pig could make such a mess and stink but they do! Excited to see my family this weekend. We are going to a family reunion on my Dad's side of the family this weekend. I think my sis and I are taking the kiddos to Silver Dollar City on Monday. I haven't talked to her to remind her yet though. I didn't get much else done today. I worked on my thesis paper and more online coaching class. I will be glad to get all my summer projects wrapped up but at this rate, I think it will be August before that happens! I went to a meeting today about teaching a two week summer school. It seems like it will be cool! I get to teach in a real science lab! Awesome! She jokingly said if we caught something on fire that was okay because we had extinguishers and blankets equipped in there! I think it will be fun. Hopefully It won't wear me out too much!

A few random strange pregnancy facts

*hormonal changes in your body loosen your ligaments and tendons… meaning your feet can grow a larger size in shoes and never go back! Weird!

*All of the organs around my uterus are in the wrong place at the moment… how does that work???

*The hormonal changes can actually change the tone or complexion of your skin, hair, and tone of your eye color. That is just strange.

*Trying to roll over at night with a basketball under your shirt is quite difficult… sometimes impossible.

Grouchy

I think I am a grouchy pregnant lady today. I took Austin to camp yesterday and my mom was supposed to call me and tell me he was okay last night but did she ever call? Nope. I know he's having a blast but the mom in me is sad he is doing things without me. The new puppy barked about every hour last night to go to the bathroom. I wonder who is training who here because the little pooch didn't go to the bathroom at all. She just wanted someone to play with. As soon as I would sit her down in the grass she would come over and crouch at my toes like she was a ferocious attack dog and growl. It would have been entertaining if it were during hours when normal people are awake. Ashlynn was up bright and early at 6 am this morning! I just kept telling her to go play. She came back every hour too! (This sounds familiar!) I finally gave up getting more than one solid hour of sleep at a time and got up at 8:30. I have a ton of things to do but I just don't feel like getting anything done. I guess I should make a list so I can get started. (I am such a list person.) I think I just make them so I can cross them out!
*finish laundry
*clean house
*give the stinky puppy a bath
*clean out my jeep
*clean out the fridge
*work on my masters thesis paper
*do an online training course for coaches

I don't know how much will get done today because I am a grouch but I guess I better get going.

**Just thought of another funny puppy moment. Yesterday we dropped Austin off at camp and the kids begged to bring Lucky with us. So we all loaded up. Thankfully the dog rides great in the car great but it was 94 degrees outside according to the bank. Anyone who has sat in the car waiting on someone knows that this is just too hot to wait in the car. Ashlynn and I had some shopping to do after dropping Austin off and I felt horrible leaving the pooch in the hot as Hades car. We resorted to smuggling the dog into stores in my purse. She fits all the way inside my purse. She was like a little baby in a stroller! She slept the whole time. Ashlynn thought this was a riot! We even smuggled her into McDonald’s to sit while Ashlynn played in the play place! What criminals we were yesterday!

The Fabulous Tree House

I thought I would post pictures of the tree house! Of course Ashlynn had to be grinning in every photo!

A Busy Weekend

We became adopted parents to a new puppy yesterday. We were down at the park where Dustin was playing music for the city festival and there was a lady giving these cute little puppies away. Well, she gave one away and didn’t bother to ask the parents if it was okay. Then she went ahead and went home! That is just LOW! Pawning puppies off on innocent kids who think they can have anything that someone is giving away… anyhow, we have a new Chihuahua mixed breed puppy which is pretty darn cute. The kids named her Lucky! Ashlynn and I went shopping today and we had to get her some cute little puppy stuff. She ended up with a pink polka dotted collar and a cute little purple tag with her name on it.

While Ashlynn and I were shopping, Dustin was at home doing his fatherly duties (pretty good since it is Father’s Day). Him and Austin finished the tree house. I have to say it looks like a real little tree house. It has a Plexiglas window that opens and latches shut, a little door, and built in shelves on the inside. The roof is even pitched! It has a little manly rope ladder that is quite difficult for a seven month pregnant lady to climb… that was probably quite entertaining for the neighbors! I am so proud of my hubby! I will have to go out and take pictures of it!

On another note, Ashlynn entered her first rodeo event last night. I didn’t go with them because I had been the night before and had been attacked down the front of my shirt by little stinging beetles. I didn’t’ want a repeat of hard seating and attack bugs so I stayed home. I wish I had been there to take pictures… anyways…. back to the story. Ashlynn entered the sheep riding contest. There were thirty contestants and she placed 4th! Not bad for her first try. She was a little disappointed because she forgot to spur on her sheep with her feet and that’s why she lost a few points! Dustin said it was the funniest thing ever. Her sheep took across the arena away from everyone else and she was just hanging on to her rope and waving her little arm. Her cowgirl hat had blown off her head and I can just imagine that her short blonde hair was just blowing in the wind! Go Ashlynn! Today all she can talk about is how she wants to do it again!!! My little cowgirl! I am definitely getting pictures next time around.

Austin goes off to church camp tomorrow! I am so nervous. I know, I know. He is nine and a half years old and old enough to go to a supervised camp, but I am going to miss him so much. I have been packing up his clothes today… kind of regretting letting him go because I won’t get to see much of him until Friday! I hope it goes well.
